THE Quota International Jimboomba club is spearheading a Christmas cheer appeal to help cash-strapped local families make the most of the festive season.
Club president Lynne Hais said the club has raised money for people affected by drought, fires and other factors beyond their control this year.
"At this festive time, we want to make sure the lives of many people in reduced circumstances a little better with some Christmas cheer," she said.
"We would like the community to get behind our Christmas cheer appeal, and donate unwrapped gifts, toys and whatever the community can give to be delivered to families in need.
"We are aware of several families in our area alone who have very little in terms of household items and income, so Christmas looks pretty bleak for them right now."
People can donate gifts to the Jimboomba and Logan Village Bendigo Bank branches until December 16.
Gifts can be distributed to help people of all ages.
Quota International Jimboomba will work with Able Australia to collect and store community donations.
