THE long awaited TransLink bus service connecting the Greater Flagstone Priority Development Area to Browns Plains has been launched.
Starting from Trailblazer Drive in Flagstone, the 535 bus service includes stops at Flagstone State Community College, Flagstone State School, Greenbank Shopping Centre and Greenbank RSL.
The 535 service includes connections to wider services including Griffith University, Garden City Sunnybank and the Brisbane CBD.
Minister for State Development Cameron Dick said the service would operate Monday to Friday from 5.30am to 8pm.
"It will ensure better access to jobs, schools, healthcare and services in Logan and Brisbane," Mr Dick said.
"This is a joint initiative between Economic Development Queensland and TransLink, funded by development charges for the Greater Flagstone PDA.
"And as demand increases through future development, more services will be introduced."
Jordan MP Charis Mullen said go card commuters could travel from Flagstone to Browns Plains for $3.31 and continue to Brisbane City for $6.16.
"With local public transport access within walking distance, commuters will be encouraged to leave their cars at home, which is a step in the right direction when it comes to lifestyle and livability," Ms Mullen said.
Logan MP Linus Power said the TransLink service received strong levels of community support.
"I would like to thank the many residents who attended the TransLink information sessions and provided feedback to assist with developing the timetable and route," Mr Power said.
