Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises the bushfire in Mount Lindesay has put people in the area in imminent danger and urge all to seek shelter now to survive.
QFES warns residents not attempt to leave the area because driving now would be extremely dangerous and potentially deadly.

At 6.50pm the fast-moving and unpredictable fire was burning on the northern side of the News South Wales and Queensland border.
It is travelling in a north-easterly direction towards Mount Gillies and has already impacted Hardgrave Road, Mount Lindesay.
The fire is expected to have a life-threatening impact on the community.
Conditions are now very dangerous and firefighters are unable to prevent the fire advancing.
The fire poses a threat to all lives directly in its path.
Fire crews may not be able to protect your property.
You should not expect a firefighter at your door: shelter now.
Power, water, and mobile phone service may be lost.
People in the area will be affected by thick smoke and embers, which will reduce visibility and air quality.
As the fire approaches, it will become difficult for you to see, hear, and breathe.
You will experience intense heat, darkness, and loud noise.
A place of refuge has been opened at the Beaudesert Showgrounds on Albert St.
Those leaving the area should take the Mount Lindesay Highway north towards Rathdowney and onto Beaudesert.

HIGH temperatures and hot winds have created a challenge for firefighters battling blazes across the Scenic Rim, with residents around Mount Lindesay advised to initiate their survival plans or leave their homes now and head for Beaudesert.

At 2.50pm the fast-moving bushfire was travelling in a south-easterly direction from Mount Ernest towards Mount Lindesay.
It is expected to impact Hardgrave Road, Mount Lindesay Highway, Sandy Hill Road and Old Mount Lindesay Highway.

Meanwhile the QFES alert for Barney View has been downgraded to Advice level with residents advised to keep up to date with developments.
A QFES update at 3.25pm reported the fire was burning in an inaccessible area of Mount Barney National Park near the Queensland and New South Wales border.
It is burning between Upper Logan Road and the Mount Lindesay Highway.
Ground crews with the assistance of waterbombing aircraft and heavy machinery are working to contain the fire
The Palen Creek alert remains at Watch and Act with residents advised to prepare to follow their bushfire survival plans.
QFES reports part of the fire is travelling in a northerly direction towards Mount Lindesay Highway and Byrne Road, Richards Road, Cashell Road, Palen Creek School Road and Back Creek Road, Palen Creek.
