BEAUDESERT Cutting and Western Perfomance Club at Josephville has offered sanctuary to people getting out of fire zones.
Club president Ray Drought said there was plenty of space at the Sue West Memorial Arena, named for a woman who was killed in a tragic freak accident in Beaudesert and left all of her estate to the club to build the indoor arena.
"Troy Welsh, who lives in the area can go up and open the gate for anyone who wants to camp at the grounds," he said.
"It has electricity, water and men's and women's showers and toilets.
"We also have cattle yards with water for horses."
Mr Drought said there was enough room for 30 to 40 people at the grounds.
"It might be easier for some to stop at Josephville rather than Beaudesert," he said.
"We are quite happy to make the grounds available but people would need to call ahead so we can get everything switched on."

Scenic Rim Regional Council has set up a place of refuge at Beaudesert Showgrounds and said they would update bushfire information on the Scenic Rim Disaster Dashboard at disasterdashboard.scenicrim.qld.gov.au
