FEDERAL member for Wright Scott Buchholz has called on kindergartens, schools, community organisations and local councils to apply for grant funding under round five of the Safer Communities Fund.
Mr Buchholz said grants would be made available to eligible organisations to support initiatives with a focus on reducing crime, violence, anti-social behaviour and other security risks.
"This fund is about improving the safety of our community spaces and places where the community gathers. It is our government's priority to ensure that all in our community are safe, particularly children, from attacks, harassment and violence of any kind," Mr Buchholz said.
"Eligible projects can include the installation of CCTV cameras, security lighting, fencing, intercoms and similar projects that increase security."
Grant amounts range from a minimum of $10,000 to a maximum of $500,000 per school campus and $1 million per organisation.
Mr Buchholz said the Australian government committed $55 million for round five of the Safer Communities Fund.
