A SPECIAL Olympian who hauled an impressive collection of medals while competing at Abu Dhabi has been named Logan's Sportsperson of the Year.
North Maclean equestrian Nathan Harvey won two gold medals in Dressage and English Equitation and bronze in Show Jumping at the Special Olympics World Games in March.
At the City of Logan Sports Awards gala presentation ceremony night on November 2, Mr Harvey said he was shocked to not only claim the top honour, but also be named as Elite Athlete with Disability for 2019.
"I saw my name up there and thought there were a lot of other people there," he said.
Mr Harvey is aspiring to qualify for the 2024 Paralympics in Paris.
