THE under 11 Jimboomba Bushrangers cricket team took on the Springwood Scorchers on Saturday, October 26.
Jimboomba won the toss and elected to bowl first.
The Bushrangers struggled to take wickets with only Kade Watson (1-8) dismissing a Springwood batsman.
The Scorchers finished with 1-100 from 20 overs.
Jimboomba was on the back foot after losing early wickets but were determined to score a competitive total.
Nash Benstead (12) and Gurman Randhawa (10) were the top Jimboomba batsmen and guided the Bushrangers to 9/92, nine runs short of victory.
Game two
THE under 12 Jimboomba Bushrangers Stage C team challenged the Springwood Swelter on October 26.
After winning the toss, the Bushrangers got off to a flying start with Aston (60) and Josh (82 not out) scoring an impressive batting partnership.
The Bushrangers finished their innings 6-201 from 28 overs.
Springwood's batsmen achieved solid partnerships but struggled to score runs from Jimboomba's tight bowling.
Jimboomba's top bowlers Josh (1-11), Jay (1-14), Liam (1-25), Mitchell (1-17) and Mateo (1-27) contributed to a team effort to restrict Springwood to 180 runs from 28 overs.
Game three
THE Jimboomba Bushrangers under 12 B team faced the Springwood Scorchers at Glenlogan Park on October 26.
Springwood won the toss but struggled through the first 15 overs at 6-80.
Jimboomba bowlers Zac Hayward (2-6) and Liam McGregor (2-11) made life difficult for Springwood.
The Scorchers recovered to finish their innings 8-155 after 30 overs.
While the Bushrangers knew it would be difficult to chase down Springwood's total, batsmen Hayden Carthouser (60) and Ben Tattersal (23) helped secure the side's second win of the season.
