BOTH RSL Beaudesert Borobies teams emerged from the weekend with wins under their belts.
The Beaudesert 1st XI travelled to Logan Village on Saturday and went into bat first. It was a solid start for openers Lachlan Brennan and Luke Gittins who put together a 94 run partnership before a mid-pitch collision resulted in Brennan being run out for 28. Gittins went on to score 71.
Dan Samphier lead the middle order, scoring a handy 56 before being dismissed in the second last over with the score 6-199. The Beaudesert innings closed after 35 overs at 8-204.
Logan Village started their run chase on target scoring 0-54 after 10 overs. The Borobies managed to tie down one end but runs leaked from the other which kept the home side in the game. Joel Thorne was the standout with 5/3/17. With a steady flow of wickets, the Borobies were able to restrict Logan Village from capitalising and had them all out for 165 in the 31st over.
Selwyn Park hosted the Borobies 2nd XI who took on newcomers Danger Island. Opening batsmen Steve Larrescy and Jayden Stephan got off to their usual solid start. Larrescy scored 28 and Stephan went on to amass 97. With smaller contributions spread across the rest of the team, Beaudesert finished at 9-197.
The Borobies comfortably progressed their way through the visiting team's batsmen, having them all out for 116 in the 19th over. Michael Fletcher took 7/4/50 while Wayne Short showed his value with 3.2/2/10. Stephan 2/22 and Stuart Groom picked up a wicket.
Meanwhile, the Beaudesert Pioneers travelled to Tansey Park to play Loganholme. Loganholme batted first and massed 10-196.
Beaudesert's run chase began with Andrew Hardy making 26 and Keegan O'Donnell 18. Kyle Ralston and Blake White steadied the run rate with 39 and 22 respectively until they were dismissed with the Pioneers 10-167, 29 runs short of Loganholme.
Beaudesert Gold Level 1 played Greenbank on the competitor's home turf. Greenbank made 6-79 from 20 overs with Xavier Dean and Darcy Tilley taking two wickets and Cooper Gee one wicket. In reply, Beaudesert made 6-117 with top scorer Page Simpson 19 not out.
Beaudesert Red Level 1 played Kuraby Gold at Larrescy Oval. Kuraby made 5-134 with Karl Gwinner and Matthew Riddle taking a wicket each. Beaudesert gave it a red-hot go but were unable to reach their competitor's score, making 4-91.
Beaudesert Green Level 2B also played Greenbank and earned a great win with 9-184. A standout player was Matthew Uppington who hit a great 45.
Isaac Ralston had a great innings with 39 not out, while Jack Wilkie made 14. Greenbank took the field and made 9-93.
