THE Greenbank Gators Swimming Club welcomed new faces and returning members during its first club night of the 2019-2020 season on October 8.
Cold conditions did not stop juniors from achieving success over the winter period, as some members qualified to compete at the Brisbane Premiership and the Vorgee Brisbane Junior Championships.
Race delegate Bec Head said a handful of swimmers picked up Junior Excellence Awards from Swimming Australia during the 2018-19 season.
"These swimmers have achieved times set by the JX program and have been presented with a JX pack from Swimming Australia," Ms Head said.
Recently, a small squad of Gator swimmers competed in their first 2019-2020 season event at Toowoomba.
Several personal best times were achieved and two swimmers won medals.
Over coming months, the Greenbank Gators will compete in a number of district and regional swimming events and clinics.
New swimmers can register for membership at the Greenbank Gators from 5.45pm every Tuesday at the Greenbank State School pool.
