HIGH profile broadcaster James Bracey will be one of the star attractions at the Logan Sports Awards next month.
The sideline NRL commentator has been announced as the Master of Ceremonies for the event and will be joined on stage with special guests including Katie Brennan and Amna Karra-Hassan.
Brennan was raised in Loganholme and recently joined the Richmond Football Club following a successful Western Bulldogs stint.
Kara-Hassan started the first women's AFL club in Western Sydney and is a champion of diversity in sport.
A record 158 nominations across 12 categories have been submitted this year.
Logan City Council Community Services director Katie Baryton-Harvey said it was encouraging to see 32 entries for the young sportspersons awards.
"This shows the city has a bright sporting future," she said.
"I'm sure in telling their stories, Katie and Amna will inspire those athletes to realise their sporting dreams."
This year's gala ceremony will be at the Logan Metro Sports and Events Centre, Crestmead, on November 2, from 6.30pm.
Jimboomba decathlete Ashley Moloney was named Logan's Sportsperson of the Year in 2018 following his success at the World Under 20 Decathlon Championships in Finland.
