STRONG winds made competition tough during the Twenty20 Last Man Standing Series on Sunday.
Batting first against Duck Duck Gone, Jimby Crickets piled on runs from the start, with man of the match Brad Hamill taking 51 runs from 20 balls. Colin Ginn took 54 from 26 while Phil Walsh was caught for 49 from 32.
Jimby Crickets finished their 20 overs with 3 for 226.
Setting out after the big target Duck Duck Gone couldn't keep up the 11 runs per over required, finishing on 4 for 160.
Game 2
The day's second clash came as a chance for Hit and Run to avenge their first Last Man Standing defeat by the Beauy Bucheurs, but history repeated itself and the Bucheurs ran out winners by six wickets.
Hit and Run batted first and after 20 overs made 3 for 156. Simran Singh with 51 from 35 and Shaun Harkin with 52 from 33 balls were the main run scorers for Hit & Run.
In reply Beauy Bucheurs scored the winning run on the last ball of the match, finishing on 2 for 157. Man of the match Samuel Matthews took 53 from 36 to go with his four fast paced overs with the wind.
Game 3
Grip it and Rip it and No Limits met for the second time in the third game of the day.
Batting first, Grip it and Rip cruised to 2 for 190 from their 20, taking 115 from the last 10 overs hitting with the strong wind. Jason Feeney in his first game of Last Man Standing was the man of the match with his 41 from 22 balls and a very tidy 1 for 13 from 4 overs, well-supported by Ben Nash with 52 from 36 balls and Harry Russell with 51 from 32 balls.
No Limits were only able to manage 5 for 120 from their 20 overs, Grip it & Rip it Winning by 70 Runs. Keith Ford was the only No Limits batter to trouble the bowlers with 48 from 33 balls.
