HORSE riders will navigate an obstacle course, compete in mounted games and put their dressage abilities to the test at Crowson Park's Riding for the Disabled Open Day on September 8.
The Open Day is expected to attract more than 25 riders to the club at 129 Crowson Lane, Greenbank, from 8.30am to 4pm.
Treasurer Trish Chellingworth said the Open Day was a good opportunity for people to learn more about the club.
"I think it will be good for people to see what we do and why we do it...therapy riding is amazing," she said.
"All our riders have different requirements and use lots of adaptive equipment with a view to helping them compete at Special Olympics or Paralympic level.
"Riding for the Disabled is a pathway to those achievements."
Riders improve their equestrian skills the Crowson Park site on Tuesdays and Wednesdays with support from volunteers.
Order of Australia medalist Sally Francis, who has 30 years of experience in the equine and disability sector, is volunteering her time to support the club's riders.
Ben Jeffrey, 14, is diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, and will be among the riders taking part in the Open Day.
Jeffrey is also contesting dressage State Championships in Maryborough this weekend and Nationals in October.
Father, Nick Jeffrey, said Ben's grandfather introduced him to horse riding and he took to it "like a duck to water".
"He has traveled around and seen a bit of the country while competing in State Championships...it is a good experience for him," he said.
