ABOUT 50 people gathered at the Logan Village RSL's Camp Cable memorial to honour the contribution of Vietnam veterans on August 18.
The date marked the anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan, where 108 Australian and New Zealand soldiers prevailed against an army of 2000 North Vietnamese and Viet Cong troops.
In the aftermath, 18 Australians died and 24 were wounded.
Logan Village RSL supporter Laurie Koranski shared an address at the ceremony.
"Each year the Logan Village RSL Sub Branch provides a reverent, touching service to commemorate our veterans," Ms Koranski said.
"I was deeply honoured to read out the American Unit Citation given to Delta Company 6RAR and pay my respects to those brave men and women who faced overwhelming odds during the battle of Long Tan.
"I thank the RSL for their ongoing commitment and support of our local service men and women."
