BEAUDESERT Boxing Club was the first organisation this financial year to benefit from the generosity of the Jimboomba Rotary satellite Sunrise Club.
Sunrise Club spokeswoman Michelle Aldridge said the club had 21 members, some of whom came across from Beaudesert Rotary.
"Most of us are early birds so we prefer the morning meetings," she said.
"Another thing members wanted was to focus only on the needs of the local Beaudesert community."
Ms Aldridge said the group had donated $1600 to Scouts, Girl Guides and the School Chaplaincy Program in the 2018-19 financial year.
"This year we are aiming to donate about $10,000 ," she said.
Beaudesert Boxing Club said he was grateful for the $500 donation presented to him on Wednesday.
"Thanks to Rotary for helping local kids," he said.
"We will use the money to install an improved frame system for our punching bags.
"We'll be putting them in next month."

Ms Aldridge said the satellite club was open to more members but with membership now more than 20 they would be eligible for incorporation as their own club.
"This will give Beaudesert two Rotary clubs, with us being the morning club," she said.
"We meet at the Beaudesert Bowls Club Wednesday mornings at 7am for breakfast and our meeting."
Ms Aldridge said people interested in joining the Sunrise group should check them out on their Satellite Club Jimboomba Sunrise Facebook page or call Aaron Birkin on 5541 4115 during office hours.
