Yarrabilba's State Secondary College has enrolled its first student six months out from opening for term one in 2020.
Year six student Lara Morris will join the year seven cohort next year and said she was looking forward to taking the next step in her educational journey.
"I'm also really excited to join the music program because I play violin," she said.
Lara's parents, Andrew and Darian, said they were convinced the school would be the right fit for their daughter after learning about the performing arts excellence program at a school information evening session.
Yarrabilba State Secondary College is expected to attract 300 enrolments for years seven and eight next year.
Up to 1800 enrolments are expected by 2024.
The $65 million high school project's construction timetable is on track with brick walls installed on level one of the junior technology and administration buildings.
Slabs have been laid for the junior learning centre and sports hall.
Foundation principal Belinda Tregea said she had been inundated with inquiries since the enrolment process was declared open.
"I am overwhelmed with the response from the community so far and look forward to meeting more of the families of Yarrabilba as more enrolment interviews occur," she said.
"Our curriculum will cater for the diverse interests and abilities of our students with a focus on personalised learning."
Ms Tregea was the principal of Loganlea State High School for the past 10 years and has 30 years experience in the education sector.
Parents seeking to enrol their children at Yarrabilba State Secondary College can complete an expression of interest form available at Yarrabilba State Primary School. Families living outside the school's catchment area may be able to secure enrolment in the school by applying for one of four proposed excellence programs to be unveiled this year.
The next Yarrabilba State Secondary College community information evening will be held at the Yarrabilba State Primary School Hall on Wednesday, September 11 at 6.30pm.
