THE Jimboomba Rotary Club has a new president following the annual changeover dinner at the Jimboomba Community Hall on June 29.
Outgoing president Malcolm Strachan handed over the role of president to Peter Anderson-Barr and thanked the board and club members for their support during his year in the job.
One of the club's most notable achievements was supporting the wheelchair accessible sway fun glider at Rotary Park with help from Variety the Children's Charity and Logan City Council.
Jimboomba and Beaudesert Rotary Clubs also united for a social fundraising movie evening which raised $1000 to support Polio Plus.
District Governor Terry Brown said the Polio Plus program was working towards eradicating polio in Africa.
Rotarian and former Logan City Citizen of the Year David Kenny was presented with the Paul Harris Fellow award for 2018-2019.
The Paul Harris Fellow award goes to Rotarians who demonstrate the values of the organisation.
Commanding officer of the Jimboomba and Districts Cadets Brett McCreadie was awarded the Peter Andrew Memorial Community Spirit award.
Former Labor candidate for Wright Pam McCreadie also attended as a special guest.
Other special guests included Logan MP Linus Power, Stacey Schwarz and former councillor Trevina Schwarz.
