MORE than 30 members of Jimboomba's Just Cruz'n Four Wheel Drive club drove to Fraser Island to help clear more than 7000 kilograms of rubbish last month.
They joined 754 volunteers from 24 of Queensland's Four Wheel Drive clubs to take part in the annual clean up during Mother's Day on May 12. Four Wheel Drive Queensland has helped clean Fraser Island since 2001, working with Queensland Parks and Wildlife as the driving force of the event.
Volunteers cleared 1261 bags of rubbish weighing 7059 kilograms along 123 kilometres.
A Jimboomba Just Cruz'n Four Wheel Drive club spokesperson said the group had a clear purpose.
"We aim to improve recreational four wheel driving, protect the environment, encourage education and knowledge sharing whilst creating fun and active outdoor communities across Queensland."
Jimboomba's club holds meetings at Dorrington House on the first Wednesday night at 7.30pm and first Sunday morning at 8am of every month.
