THE Jimboomba Redbacks AFL club turns 20 this month and will host a family fun day to celebrate the achievement.
Celebrations will begin at Glenlogan Park on June 15 from 9am with a Roy's game followed by three junior and youth games.
The seniors will challenge Maroochydore in a game at 2pm.
Fireworks will start at 7pm and there will be a balloon man, inflatables, a band and raffles.
Former Brisbane Lion's player Tim Notting will join the Jimboomba Redbacks' Masters team which will play at 4pm.
Meanwhile, six Jimboomba Redbacks players have been congratulated for completing milestone games.
Xavier Wilson (under 10 Black), Drew Keen (under 12), Jejinder Sandhu (under 13), Bernard Gaynor (under 16) and Matthew Gillham played their 5oth game for the club over the weekend.
Under 16 player Angus Hodges played his 100th game for the club and 134 games in total.
Seniors
The Jimboomba Redbacks seniors took on the Yeronga Devils on May 31.
Four goals were kicked early in the game, setting a strong foundation for the Redbacks as the game progressed.
The Redbacks went into half time with a 28 point lead and continued to dominate the game to finish ahead 87-16.
Under 15
The under 15 Jimboomba Redbacks women side has achieved a significant confidence boost after defeating Aspley by 151 points at Voxson Oval.
Manager Troy Reilly said the girls put in a mammoth effort in the midfield which is where the team's strength lies.
Jayla Hargreaves, Avalon Pearce, Alice Champion, Savanna Thomas, Tekitah Sailor-Smith, Chelsea Bidgood, Shontau Iafeta, Ashleigh Hodges, Chelsea Reilly, Dakota Ivanasevic and Teagan Dare scored goals.
Under 12
The under 12 Jimboomba Redbacks came back from behind to pull of a stunning 17 point victory against Morningside on June 2.
After finishing the first quarter trailing 3-14 the Redbacks fought back to finish 10-14 at half time.
The Redbacks played their natural hard contested football in the second half to claim victory 38-21.
Jarrett Wilson was named player of the week for putting his body on the line when needed.
Under 16
The under 16 Jimboomba Redbacks demonstrated improvement in their game against the Redcliffe Tigers despite losing a hard fought contest at Glenlogan Park.
Dylan Brisbane, Hutton Cross and Isaac Dawes worked together to move the ball forward in the first quarter.
Five under 14 players kept Jimboomba in the game but they had a tough time competing against Redcliffe's forward entries.
The Redbacks increased their defensive play in the second quarter, laying over 17 tackles and six desperate smothers.
However, momentary lapses allowed Redcliffe to score frequently.
Redcliffe kicked five goals to Jimboomba's two in the third quarter.
Cameron Doyle's defensive efforts prevented the score from blowing out further.
While there was no prospect of victory overall, the Redbacks aimed to win the final quarter.
Angus Hodges toe poked the ball over the line in a goal square scramble while Hutton Cross kicked two goals.
The Redbacks were defeated by Redcliffe by 70 points one month earlier, and cut the losing margin in half with an overall score of 82-36.
Hutton Cross was named man of the match after making 28 kicks, seven hand passes, eight marks and two goals.
Next week the Jimboomba Redbacks face Wilston Grange to fight for a top four position.
Under 17
The under 17 Jimboomba Redbacks took on Calamvale in a low scoring game over the weekend.
Jimboomba's approach to the game focused on composure and teamwork, even when the game turned brutally physical.
Bonnie Ryan performed well as fullback while Lieshy Alford tackled hard in the first half.
Marni Balmforth, Josii Hargreaves and Chloe Ackland secured clearances from stoppages and Phoebe Balmforth's contested marks up forward were pivotal to the outcome.
The Redbacks won by 13 points 35-22.
Olivia Vidoni was named player of the match for tough tackling and competitiveness.
