THE under 17 Jimboomba Redbacks comfortably defeated Wilston Grange by 44 points over the weekend.
While some key players were sidelined due to injuries the girls played with confidence.
Phoebe was named player of the match after kicking three goals and working around the ground to perform as an all rounder.
Steff Pottinger put pressure on the opposition while Bonnie Ryan put in an outstanding effort.
Aliesha Alford played her 150th game and showed her experience by consistently claiming possession of the ball.
The Redbacks won 46 to 2.
Under 16
The under 16 Jimboomba Redbacks fell short of winning a crucial game which would have propelled them to the top spot on the ladder.
Coorparoo challenged the Redbacks in windy conditions.
The Redbacks started well with strong defensive tackling pressure and forward line intensity.
Possession favoured the Redbacks in the first quarter but were unable to capitalise against the wind which was blowing against them.
Coorparoo went into the second quarter leading 7 to 4 and both sides struggled for possession.
The opposition took advantage of their opportunities to kick three goals while Jimboomba scored one in the second and third quarters.
Trailing by 23 points in the final quarter, Jimboomba threw every effort at Coorparoo but only clawed back one point.
Player of the match Cameron Doyle put in a superb effort in defence while co-captain Hutton Cross was a key contributor.
Fletcher Pearce, Dylan Brisbane, Sam Windsor, Cooper Aves and Sam Windsor were also strong performers.
Unfortunately, the Redbacks were defeated 32 points to 54.
Under 15
The under 15 Jimboomba Redbacks travelled to Wilston Grange in an attempt to break the three way deadlock for the top position on the season ladder.
Forward player Shontae Iafetya kicked a goal in the first minute of the game.
The Redbacks went on to kick two more goals in the quarter to lead 18-6.
The second quarter was tighter with the Redbacks only scoring two points.
After half-time, Grace Parker moved from fullback to full forward and kicked two quick goals.
The Wilston Grane gorillas kicked two goals of their own and were mounting a comeback before Ashleigh hodges blocked a goal from fullback position.
Goals were also scored by Mariska Dawes, Taneka Dhadlie and Chelsea Bidgood.
The Redbacks won 51-20.
Under 14
The under 14 Jimboomba Redbacks took on Naranga Blue in a home game.
Narangba Blue failed to score a goal in the first quarter while the Redbacks scored one.
The Redbacks followed this up with a behind in the second quarter.
Jimboomba played their best game in the third quarter with three goals from Luke, Cooper and Joshua and two behinds.
Momentum went Narangba's way in the final quarter who kicked two goals and one behind while Jimboomba kicked one goal and one behind.
The Redbacks were victorious 39-15.
Under 13
The under 13 Jimboomba Redbacks defeated Sandgate in a home game with 43 points to 19.
Emma Doyle was named player of the match.
The under 13 side is second by percentage on the division two ladder.
Their next game will be against Moggil.
Under 12
The Jimboomba Redbacks took on Calamvale on Friday night with neither side giving an inch in a low scoring game.
Jimboomba got the upper hand early in the first quarter to lead 8-0 but Calamvale fought hard to gain the lead in the third quartr.
While Jimboomba's forward half sustained pressure on Calamvale's defenses they could not score and Calamvale won by one goal 21-15.
