POLICE are hunting for three men who used a machete, axe and metal wrench to threaten staff, including a 31-year-old woman, at a Greenbank pub overnight.

A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said the armed robbery at a Pub Lane tavern happened about 3.30am on Friday.

The three men entered the pub through its front entrance about 3.30am after confronting a 45-year-old male security guard.

They then threatened a 31-year-old female staff member before stealing a sum of cash and leaving in a stolen Chrysler 300C sedan.

The spokesperson said the car was later found burnt out at the corner of Green Road and Andalusion Drive at North Maclean. The car's Queensland number plate was 801 YII.

"No one was physically injured during the incident," the spokesperson said.

"Police investigations are ongoing."
