Mustangs Brothers Rugby League Football Club at Chambers Flat is kicking on, with a $150,000 grant from Forde MP Bert van Manen.
With the funds going into a more environmentally friendly and cost effective lighting system, it means the club has a brighter future in more ways than one.
Club president Aaron Delaforce said that with the growing cost of electricity, the much needed grant would pay for the purchase and installation of LED field lighting.
"As a small rural club managed by a dedicated group of volunteers and members, this much needed upgrade will help reduce the electricity costs for the club," he said.
Mr Delaforce said the club was grateful for the ongoing support and advocacy of Mr van Manen.
He said the support would save the club significant money.
This could be reinvested into development programs for children and help sustain Mustangs for the long term.
The lighting upgrade was expected to start at the end of the 2019 season.
"Areas like Park Ridge and Logan Reserve are rapidly growing corridors in my electorate," Mr van Manen said.
"Every time I drive through here I see a new development.
"To support this growth, our government has prioritised investment in local grassroots sports because we recognise the wider health, social and community benefits that come from greater activity and participating in sport.
"It is a key priority of our government to promote the social and health benefits of physical activity and sport and our investment to upgrade facilities and infrastructure will provide a real encouragement for local residents."
