THE Jimboomba Summit is expected to attract hundreds of residents from Jimboomba and surrounding areas at Cusack Lane on Thursday, March 21.
Registrations have been pouring in for the Logan City Council event, but for those who have not registered, it is not to late to have a say.
Council will gather ideas and take community feedback on board to help shape Jimboomba's future.
Cr Trevina Schwarz said Jimboomba's future would be best served if as many residents as possible attend the summit.
"Unlocking the future potential of Jimboomba's retail and shopping heart, Cusack Lane, will be a key focus," she said.
"It's an important focal point for the community and we want to make sure we're maximising opportunities there. There will be a range of expert guest speakers as well as interactive displays, food vans and kids activities."
Leading industry experts from fields including urban design, property investment, landscape architecture, placemaking and destination branding will deliver presentations.
Creative director Matt Barratt will talk about branding Jimboomba at the Mustering Yard while Invest Logan director Annabelle Pegrum will discuss how to use local character to achieve economic outcomes at Jimboomba Tavern.
Placemaking and public engagement specialist David Snyder offer insights into harvesting local energy at Cafe on Cusack and Landscape Architecture director Anna Chauvel will lead an on-street walking tour with engagement prototypes.
People will have the opportunity to use a video booth and complete activities on Jimboomba Summit cards as ways to have a say on the future of Jimboomba.
Residents will go into the draw to win prizes after taking part in the process.
A part of Cusack Lane approaching South and Brisbane streets will be blocked off from 10am to 10pm for the street event.
There will be access to the shopping centre.
The Jimboomba Summit will run two sessions from 3.30pm to 6pm and 6pm to 8.30pm. To register visit jimboombasummit.com.
