LOGAN City Council's vision to plant 3300 native trees and shrubs as part of the Belivah Creek catchment restoration project will be one step closer on Saturday.
The community is invited to take part in a second round of planting on March 23 from 9am to 11.30am.
More than 1800 native trees and shrubs were planted by more than 100 people during round one in April last year at Willmann Park.
Cr Laurie Koranski said last year's planting efforts made a significant difference.
"With nearly a year of growth, the natives planted last year have added to the quality of the habitat and catchment," Cr Koranski said.
"I can't wait to see what a difference another 3300 new trees and shrubs will make."
Cr Jennie Breene said community support would achieve greater environmental outcomes for Logan.
"Once the native plants get established they will help create an ecological corridor along Belivah Creek that will improve water quality through the catchment and into the Albert River," she said.
Children activities, information stalls and a free sausage sizzle will be available.
