A DEVELOPER has put together a project at Bethania which is aimed at grey nomads who are ready to lead a lock-up-and-leave lifestyle.
It features homes that are low maintenance with space for RVs or caravans.
Ingenia Lifestyle Bethania project sales manager Wendy Hobson said the release of homes had been designed to meet the demand from downsizers looking to free up equity and improve their lifestyle.
“It’s an exciting time to be able to see the new vision along with new architecturally-designed homes that combine contemporary design with low-maintenance living,” Ms Hobson said.
“The average house price in greater Brisbane is around $525,000 – far greater than homes at Ingenia Lifestyle Bethania, which start from just $309,000.
“Ingenia Lifestyle’s land lease ownership model enables downsizers to capitalise on the property market freeing up equity to live the lifestyle they have always dreamed of.”
Ms Hobson said The Boulevard collection was perfect for those looking to travel and had multiple features to support a lock-up-and-leave lifestyle.
“The homes require very little maintenance and there is always someone to keep an eye on the property – our residents can just pack a bag and go – without having to worry about their home,” Ms Hobson said.
“A selection of homes in the collection offer RV and caravan spaces with the garage – which is perfect for our grey nomads.”
Ingenia Lifestyle Bethania has upgraded facilities, including a gymnasium, an expanded outdoor patio and barbeque area and a community shed.
“The new resort-style facilities make our residents feel like they are on holiday all year-round,” Ms Hobson said.
By 2025, the number of Queenslanders over the age of 65 is set to increase by 40 per cent to one million – indicating that the demand for affordable housing for this age group is likely to grow over the next five years.
More than 3500 seniors live in Ingenia homes.
Under the Ingenia model, people buy a new home and lease, rather than own.
The company says this offers a more affordable entry price point and eliminates the need to pay stamp duty.
