A TREE of Life mural in the Beenleigh Town Square is set to be unveiled on March 17.
The mural will be officially unveiled by City of Logan Acting Mayor Cherie Daley at the Quota Fun Day.
Commissioned by local youth organisation Junior Quota Beenleigh to celebrate Quota International’s 100 year anniversary, the mural is a part of Quota Beenleigh’s 100 Days of Kindness Campaign.
A Junior Quota spokesperson said the concept arose during consultation with Jacobs Well artist Donald James Waters and the Junior Quotarians.
The spokesperson said businesses, community groups, and individuals were encouraged to purchase a leaf which would be engraved and placed on the mural for permanent display to acknowledge their contribution to the growth of the town.
"It is hoped that the mural will continue to grow as Beenleigh grows and develops so that generations to come will be able to appreciate their heritage," the spokesperson said.
The Quota Junior Fun Day, held from 1pm to 5pm on March 17, will feature a storytime session, face painting, pet rocks, Build-a-Bear, a jumping castle, live entertainment, and food trucks, as well as police vehicles, an SES boat and Queensland Fire Service fire truck visits.
Live entertainers include local artists and bands, dance groups and an interactive martial arts demonstration.
