ALL hands are on deck at Flagstone's Pirate Ship Park which was officially unveiled this month.
The pirate ship playground is over 18 metres long and nestled between the Pioneer and Conquest precincts.
It is equipped with picnic facilities and was designed to engage children in upper and lower deck activities.
Peet Limited CEO and managing director Brendan Gore said more than $80 million would be invested to create dozens of recreational parks at Flagstone.
"It's a big commitment but parks are a huge asset and a draw card for the community," he said.
"Designing for play is a priority because we know that play and social networking are incredibly important to people's health and to the wellbeing and sustainability of our communities.
"Over the next 30 years, we will be developing 12,000 new homes and every home will be in walking distance of a park and connected by 200km of walkways and cycle paths.
The centrepiece of Peet's masterplan is the $12 million Flagstone Regional Park which covers 10 hectares surrounding the future city centre.
The park is already well developed with a dog park, competition skate plaza and a mammoth adventure playground.
Flagstone is earmarked as a Priority Development Area and is expected to have 50,000 homes and a population of 120,000 people by 2045.
