BROWNS Plains police have increased patrols targeted at reducing car theft over the past week.
Sergeant Shane Clark said police have hit the streets with an important message for motorists.
Browns Plains police are urging members of the community to be mindful of locking their cars at night time and not leaving valuables, such as phones, money, wallets in their cars," he said.
"Our Volunteers in Policing have also been getting involved by hitting local shopping centre car parks and local streets delivering the ‘Lock it or Lose it’ message.
"It is always advisable to park the vehicles in a secure location, however if on the street, make sure that there are no valuables left in the vehicles or visible through the windows."
Last week, Logan police revealed 16 cars had been stolen over six days from suburbs including Browns plains, Hillcrest, Regents Park, Logan Reserve, Munruben and Glenlogan.
