WORK to install a sway fun glider at Jimboomba’s Rotary Park is set to begin this week.
The swing is suitable for disabled youth and is fitted with a ramp and platform to make it wheelchair-accessible.
It has two large cushioned seats and rocks back and forward on large springs.
Funding and support from Logan Council, Rotary Club Jimboomba and Variety the Children’s Charity Queensland have made the project possible.
Councillor Trevina Schwarz said the swing would make Rotary Park a more inclusive environment.
“This is a wonderful addition to what is a popular park in Jimboomba,” she said.
The swing will be installed in the park’s playground area which remains open.
It will be fenced off during the construction phase.
The project is expected to be completed in mid-March, depending on weather conditions.
