THE Flagstone community will be challenged to complete as many exercise circuit rounds as possible in two hours to support mental health initiatives.
Kymberly Sant from KK Bodyworx said a mental health and well-being initiative would be hosted at Flagstone State Community College on Saturday, March 30.
The Mental Health Matters event will have community members complete multiple circuits of a boot camp style program which features body weight exercises including burpees, push-ups and squats from 7am to 9am.
Participants will be sponsored per round they complete.
While the exercise component runs until 9am, the event will continue until 10am with a sausage sizzle, raffles and information talks to unfold.
Proceeds will be directed to Brisbane mental health organisation Down Not Out, run by Troy Brown.
Ms Sant said the exercise circuit was available to everyone, with a minimum $10 donation required.
“Participants will work hard for donations and push themselves to the limit physically and mentally while releasing endorphins at the same time,” she said.
“The boot camp is there to create a happy environment and help people let of some steam.”
According to BeyondBlue, one out of four Australians will experience an anxiety condition in their life time and one in seven will suffer depression in their lifetime.
