Love may be in the air for Valentine's Day but February 14 coincides with another important day: National Condom Day.
Family Planning Tasmania LARC 4 U project officer Judy Brown used the occasion to spread the message of healthy sexual relationships in North-West colleges.
"It’s Valentine’s Day as well but National Condom Day is to raise the awareness of condoms and their use and why that is important," she said.
"And also we are pushing our messages which is the essentials: consent, condoms, communication, consideration and contraception."
The sexual health organisation has been working towards reducing the teenage pregnancy rate in North-West Tasmania, which is two-and-a-half times the national average.

After speaking to more than 900 students and 63 organisations, Family Planning Tasmania launched a new app called My Choice.
"It was originally going to be a contraceptive app but the community and youth wanted more.
"They wanted sexual health information," Mrs Brown said.
The app allows users to track their symptoms each day in a diary to help doctors diagnose sexual health problems.
It also includes plain-English answers to curly questions on pregnancy, contraception types and sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
The app received more than $80,000 in funding from philanthropic organisation Impact 100 Tasmania to develop the My Choice app.
