TWO children under the age of five were transported to Queensland Children’s Hospital in serious condition after a serious two vehicle crash at Park Ridge on Sunday afternoon.
A Queensland Police Service spokespersons said initial investigations suggested a Honda travelling north on Chambers Flat Road attempted to turn right into School Road when it collided with a Subaru driving south on Chambers Flat Road at 2.20pm, February 10.
The two child Honda passengers were transported to Queensland Children’s Hospital and a 25-year-old female passenger in the Subaru was transported to Logan Hospital for observation.
Neither driver suffered serious injuries from the crash.
Logan councillor Phil Pidgeon said he would continue to follow police investigations into the matter.
“There is nothing at this point to suggest any flaw or design flaw with the intersection, and visibility for both drivers was good,” he said.
“As stated previously, if it is revealed that there are design or other issues with this intersection I will be demanding a fix but in every accident that has occurred here I have demanded detailed investigations on the design to determine if the intersection meets standards.
“In every single case the investigations done by police and traffic experts show the intersection meets all standards.”
The Forensic Crash Unit are investigating.
