THE Greenbank Raiders Rugby League Club will celebrate its 30th year anniversary as it prepares for the 2019 season.
Club secretary Melissa O’Sullivan said had survived a period of significant change.
“I have been involved with the club for nine years with my son,” she said.
“It has really great facilities, our fields are amazing and we have a great relationship with the Middle Green pub next door.”
Ms O’Sullivan said the Greenbank Raiders committee would spend this year focused on family fun, fitness and friendship.
“There will be personal training classes running throughout the season,” she said.
“We will also have Billy’s Buddies running sessions for two to six-year-olds on Tuesdays from 5pm at the Greenbank Raiders Club.”
Billy’s Buddies was an organisation founded by Queensland Origin legend Billy Slater which teaches basic ball skills to kids under the age of six.
Three teams made it through to grand finals last year and the open mens went on to defeat Logan Brothers.
They also won the Ted Beaumont challenge and secured the south side champions title for 2018.
The under 12 and 16 men teams made it to the grand final stage but were not able to claim first place.
Sign-on for new members will be held on February 2 from 9am to 2pm at the Greenbank Raiders Club at 720 Middle Road.
