Mr Kippen took over the Browns Plains store on December 20 after it temporarily closed.

Store manager Martin Hall and shop assistant Josie de Mor were on the job on Wednesday, January 9, and expressed confidence in the brand.

Ms de More said the community welcomed the move to keep a Beds R Us store in the local area.

“We have had four customers who came back to us after the closure and that has not frightened them,” she said.

“The customers have been very happy and positive.”

Martin said customers appreciated Mr Kippen’s willingness to honour every store deposit after taking on the job.

“It was a very big issue,” he said.

Mr Kippen said he was looking to serving local people in need of Australian mattresses.

“We are optimistic and happy to be looking after the Browns Plains and wider community again,” he said.

Other Beds R Us stores owned by Mr Kippen include Macgregor, Helensvale, Bundall, Logan Hypderdome, Noosa, Burleigh Heads and Runaway Bay.

There are 81 independently owned Beds R Us stores Australia wide.
