A NEW Year’s Eve police operation on the Mount Lindesay Highway uncovered multiple cases of drink, drug and unlicensed driving.
Jimboomba police dealt with more than 1400 motorists as part of Operation DIRT with six drivers over the legal alcohol limit, eight tested positive to drugs and three found to be unlicensed.
Fines were issued to drivers for not complying with licence conditions and driving defective vehicles.
Jimboomba Police Station officer in charge Senior Sergeant Peter Waugh said people needed to be aware of the state of their vehicle and licence conditions to avoid costly reminders from police.
“Road safety is everyone’s responsibility, please ensure you and the vehicle you are driving are fit for the purpose,” he said.
