TWO Logan “adoption angels” have opened their hearts and homes to new furry friends.
Marsden resident Jackie Ang trusted her cat-loving instincts when she chose four month old silver-grey kitten Lupe from the pound to become best friends with her other cat, Biggie.
She said she was alerted to the adoption process through Logan council’s Facebook page.

Ms Ang said the trio shared common interests.
“We love to just watch TV and chill,” Ms Ang said.
“Once you get a pet and start to love them, you start to think about all the other animals (without homes).
“He’s created awareness about adopting an animal.”
She urged pet lovers to prioritise adopting an abandoned or unclaimed animal when looking to add a furry creature to the family.
Meanwhile, Greg Latham from Beenleigh made best friends with the pug breed dog, Ruby, during a visit to Logan’s Animal Management Centre (AMC) at Kingston.
Mr Latham said Ruby was a loyal companion who regularly wakes him up in the morning.
“She goes everywhere I go. She loves her walks and riding in the car,” he said.
“I’m so happy to have her as she is great company.”
Ruby’s adoption was made possible under the AMC’s Seniors for Seniors adoption program, which matches older animals with elderly members of the Logan community.
Council waives standard animal adoption charges and offers lifetime registration to pets through the initiative.
The program is open to senior card holders.
The Logan Animal Managemwent Centre is located at 213 Queens Road, Kingston and is open Monday to Friday from 8.30pm to 4.30pm and Saturday 9am to 2pm.
