A COURIER driver’s van filled with packages bound for Logan homes and businesses a week before Christmas was stolen during a delivery drop at Slacks Creek on the weekend.
Police said the van was nabbed on Saturday, December 15 at 7.45am. The driver had jumped out to deliver a parcel, leaving the keys in the ignition and the engine running.
A Queensland police services spokesperson said the driver had had just started his delivery run and had 53 parcels on board.
“This is a frustrating incident to occur around Christmas time for the delivery driver and for all the customers who may now never receive their parcels,” a Queensland police spokesperson said.
The van was found the next day at Kingston but it was empty.
A QPS spokesman said police would like to take the opportunity to remind people to lock up their cars when not in use.
