POLICE have praised the south-west Logan community for getting behind the Mouldy Hogs road safety program at Mundoolun over the weekend.
The program, led by Motorcycle Life operator Steve McDowall, is designed to refresh middle aged people who are looking to test their motorbike skills.
The first session was held at the Munddolun Community Centre on Saturday, November 24.
Jimboomba Police Senior Sergeant Peter Waugh said the course was about engaging police with instructors and motorcyclists with the hope of improving road safety in the region.
“The program went really well and we got some encouraging comments from people who said it was a great program, brings awareness, involves police, was well presented, engaged participants and was a good day out,” he said.
“We are looking for more mature riders, people who have come back to ridintg from a break.
“It is not a fast speed racing course...the purpose is to keep people alive.”
The second workshop will be held at the Mundoolun Community Centre from 9am on Sunday, December 9.
Logan residents can register for the program by visiting the website or calling 1300 961 335.
