DOMINO’S Pizza stores will be popping up like mushrooms across the region if Greg Tinson’s vision s realised.
The franchisee of Australia’s 700th Dominos pizza store at Flagstone revealed an ambitious plan to own 10 stores between Acacia Ridge and Jimboomba by 2020.
Mr Tinson said he was searching for an appropriate Greenbank site near where developer Mirvac is planning the Everleigh estate which will add an extra 3000 homes to the area.
“I’m just trying to find a site at the moment...we are hoping to do that in the next six to 12 months,” he said.
“If Cedar Grove and Cedar Vale continue to make moves as they are we will look to have one there and in Jimboomba itself with the AV Jennings estate on Cusack Lane, there could potentially be one near there.
“We want to get hot fresh pizza to people’s door in 10 to 15 minutes, that is why we are doing it.”
Mr Tinson currently owns stores in Jimboomba, Yarrabilba, Flagstone and other South Brisbane areas.
He started his 20 year career as a pizza delivery driver in Beenleigh before becoming a store manager and purchasing his first store at Acacia Ridge.
He will hire his 100th team member at the Flagstone store
The opening of Flagstone Domino’s attracted high profile visitors on Wednesday, November 28, with Domino’s Group CEO and managing director CEO Don Meij and Australia and New Zealand CEO Nick Knight celebrating the milestone.
Mr Meij said Domino’s corporate culture opened opportunities for delivery drivers to climb the ladder and become franchisees.
“Our whole business is made up of young business owners in their communities,” he said.
“What we do with a lot of our really successful managers is as long as they can get a deposit we will rent them their first store and they keep all the profits, and with that they can buy their first store.
“I had 17 stores in south-east Queensland once and I started as a pizza delivery driver...that is our whole history.”
Jordan MP Charis Mullen said the food, beverage and retail industry were real job creators.
The Flagstone store is located on the corner of Homestead Drive and Hollows Street.
