AN ONGOING pattern of house break-ins are continuing to devastate property owners in Logan Reserve.
Police are investigating after a group of people broke down the front door of a Chambers Flat Road home, threatened an elderly couple with a weapon and forced them onto the ground in a bedroom at 1.10am on Tuesday, November 27.
One of the men struck an 89-year-old man on the side of his face with an unknown weapon, causing a laceration.
A 58-year-old woman was also ordered to lie on the ground.

A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said the group stole various items and tried to steal the resident’s car.
“They ended up fleeing the residence after breaking off a key in the car ignition,” the spokesperson said.
Bulky items including sinks, hot water systems, air conditioners and more were stolen from the properties.
Logan councillor Phil Pidgeon said property owners needed to make sure their homes were insured and surveillance measures were in place.
“Be on guard, if you have a house under construction you need to spend time there and make sure security measures are in place,” he said.
“I feel sorry for these poor buggers, they trust in society and society lets them down.
“This has been a regular occurrence and has been going on for a while.”
Investigations into the matter are continuing.
Meanwhile, a 41-year-old Riverview man was charged for allegedly throwing meat and produce on the floor of a Marsden church at McCarthy Road on Wednesday. November 14.
Police charged the man with one count of public nuisance and is due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on December 10.
