MORE than 100 Jimboomba athletes will run on the track at the Regional Relay Championships at the Queensland State Athletics Facility at Nathan on the weekend.
Athletes representing Jimboomba Little Athletics will enter in 52 track teams in a race against nine south-east Queensland clubs including Browns Plains, Beenleigh, Algester, Springwood, Sunnybank, Mount Gravatt, Balmoral, Redlands and Wynnum Manly.
Track and field events will feature athletes aged from under seven to 17.
Jimboomba teams will progress to contest the State Relay Championships in December if they place in the top three over the weekend.
All under seven and under eight athletes will receive a participation medallion for the regional competition.
This comes after Maddison Aitkin, Bailey Brettell, Felia Kia, Talosaga Kia, Sam Windsor, Jack Addley, Ben Roberts and Erin Gallagher won medals at the Queensland Secondary School State Championships held at Nathan from October 27-28.
Brettell,13, is also preparing for National Championships in Cairns for 90m hurdles after winning gold at the State Championship.
