A MAN has appeared at Beenleigh Magistrates Court charged with the murder of a Logan father of three last weekend.
Dakota Ruka-Pohe, 27, was charged with the murder of neighbour Robert Watene, 33.
He did not enter a plea and was remanded in custody to appear on January 23.
Mr Ruka-Pohe was also charged with two counts of serious assault after allegedly spitting in the face of two female police officers.
Mr Watene died from a stab wound to his neck in the early hours of Sunday morning, November 4.
It is believed the alleged killer was known to the victim and his partner through a local netball club. They recently became neighbours at a unit complex at University Drive, Loganlea.
It is believed Mr Watene gave his murderer a lift home from a party at Slacks Creek on Saturday night.
