A DIVERSE group of creative Logan writers have published a book featuring a compilation of riveting short stories.
Creative Writers R US will officially launch their second book “More Scribbles From the Suburbs” on Saturday, October 27 from 2.30pm to 4.30pm at Logan Central Library.
The Logan authors adopted an experimental approach to the book which includes stories written in the form of shapes and stories which include the use of ten random words plucked from a dictionary at one given time.
Creative writer Carol Price said there were tales to suit a broad audience included in the book.
“We have got ghost stories, witches burning at the stake, bush rangers and comedy,” she said.
“We have a good range because we are all very different people.”

Author Barry O’Farrell said anyone looking to pursue their passion for writing would be welcome in the group.
“This is an ongoing community project, the book is one side of it but we are also trying to attract new members and promote writing and creativity and literacy in the Logan area,” he said.
Creative Writers R US member Kurt Kristoffersen said people of all literacy abilities were welcome to join and would have opportunities to develop their skills.
“We write a story every month and read what we have written and then we all constructively criticism what you have written,” he said.
Creative Writers R US is supported through the Regional Arts Development Fund, which is jointly funded by Logan Council and the Queensland government.
The group meets on the first Saturday of every month from 9am at Logan Central Library.
Anyone interested in joining can contact Wayne Pendleton on 0423 390 684.
