POLICE have charged a 45-year-old Hillcrest woman alleged to have crashed her car into a parked vehicle at Browns Plains while almost four times over the limit with three children inside her car.
Browns Plains police officers were called to Grand Plaza shortly after 8pm on Saturday, October 20 and conducted a road side breath test which allegedly returned a reading of 0.191.
The driver has been charged with high range drink driving and has had her licence suspended until her court appearance.
Acting sergeant Danielle Hill said it was vital for people to report these incidents to police.
“We all have a role to play in road safety and I am grateful that members of the community alerted us to this incident. With children in the car, this could have had a devastating outcome,” she said.
“Every time you drink, you need to have a Plan B.
“Your Plan B is your safe way home without getting behind the wheel. When you’ve got a Plan B, there’s no need to risk a (road side breath test).”
The 45-year-old Hillcrest woman is due to appear at Beenleigh Magistrates Court in November.
