JIMBOOMBA Little Athletics have had a euphoric start to the carnival season with eight athletes clinching 27 medals at the Redcliffe Twilight Carnival on the weekend.
Athletes won 16 gold medals, eight silver and three bronze in the track and field meet on Saturday, October 20.
Competing in the under 16 age group, Sam Windsor hauled gold for 200m sprint, high jump and discus.
He also picked up silver in the 100m sprint.

Taylah Lenz performed well in the under 16 girls category wiith gold medals for discus and javelin complementing silver in shot put.
Wyatt Gibson sprinted to victory in 400m, 800m and 1500m distance running and won silver for high jump and triple jump.
Long distance specialist, Georgia Grimsey won gold for 800m and 1500m and came second in the 400m sprint.
Under 12 athlete Holly Cavanagh won gold in 800m and 1500m while picking up bronze for 400m.
Erin Gallagher was successful in the under 13 girls age group winning 200m, 400m and shot put in addition to silver for discus and bronze for 100m.
Under seven male athlete Zayde Avard demonstrated all round ability winning gold in 100m, silver for 70m and long jump and bronze for discus.
Jimboomba Little Athletics’ youngest competitor Xander Avard performed strongly in the under six age group and eon a participation medal.
More than 40 Jimboomba athletes competed at the annual Algester carnival on Sunday, October 21.
Podium presentations were interrupted due to mid-afternoon storm activity with full results expected to be released later in the week.
