THE Bureau of Meteorology recorded 42 millimetres of rain in 15 minutes at Mount Tamborine and 73 millimetres in an hour.
In an updated severe storm warning at 4.10pm, BOM said severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near Cleveland, Maroochydore and Caloundra at 4.05pm.
They were expected to affect Noosa Heads and Gympie by 4.35pm.
A total of 200 properties are still reported to be without power at Jimboomba and 250 at Capalaba.
UPDATE 3.10pm
THE Bureau of Meteorology continued to warn of damaging winds, heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and large hail in south-east Queensland.
A BOM spokesperson said at 3:05 pm, severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near Brisbane CBD, Beaudesert, Logan City, Strathpine, Kilcoy and Kingaroy.
The storms were moving towards the east.
They are forecast to affect Beenleigh and Cleveland by 3:35 pm and parts of the Sunshine Coast by 4:05 pm.
At 3.10pm about 200 properties in the Jimboomba area are without power.

THE Bureau of Meteorology have updated their storm warning for south-east Queensland including Logan, Redland City and parts of Scenic Rim.
At 2.35pm Severe storms were detected at Greenbank, the McPherson Range and Border Ranges National Park.
The storms are moving towards the northeast to southeast.
They are forecast to affect Brisbane CBD, Beenleigh and Logan by 3:05 pm and Cleveland by 3:35 pm.

Severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar at 2.05pm near Beaudesert.
The storms were moving towards the east.
They are forecast to reach Logan by 2.35pm and Cleveland by 3.05pm.
Damaging winds, heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and large hailstones were likely.

THE Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for south-east Queensland including Scenic Rim, Logan and Redland City.
In a warning issued at 1.46pm, a BOM spokesperson said 2 to 3 centimetre hail was reported north-east of Boonah, 91km/h wind gusts were reported at Oakey at 1.10pm and 106km/h wind gusts reported at Toowoomba at 1.20pm.
Damaging winds, heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and large hailstones were likely.
The storms were forecast to affect Brisbane CBD, Laidley, Gatton, the area southwest of Esk, the area west of Esk and Cooyar by 2:10 pm and Ipswich, Boonah, Strathpine, Esk, Kingaroy and the area west of Kingaroy by 2:40 pm.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
- Move your car under cover or away from trees.
- Secure loose outdoor items.
- Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded, forget it.
- Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.
- Avoid using the telephone during a thunderstorm.
- Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
