Sport is something Logan does well. It produces elite athletes – think rugby league legend Cameron Smith, Winter Olympian Steven Bradbury and swimmer Jodie Henry to name a few.

A-League football team Roar trains here, a study will determine feasibility for securing a multi-purpose sports stadium somewhere in the city and Logan wants to host sports events that will bring both athletes and spectators here.

If Logan is going to host sports events it has some work to do. It needs more accommodation and better roads and public transport to carry contestants and spectators to events.
It is too soon to say whether the 2032 Olympic Games bid will be made, but Logan appears to be thinking ahead to how it might make the most of that.
