POLICE have charged a second man in relation to three alleged robberies of bottle shops in Logan over the weekend.
A 26-year-old man with no fixed address was charged after 8pm on Monday, October 8 following an abandoned vehicle fire at the Argon and Cleves Street intersection at Beenleigh.
A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said the abandoned vehicle belonged to a female Benz Street resident who was allegedly threatened by a man to hand over her keys.
“As a result of inquiries, officers observed the man during a patrol of the area and confirmed he was wanted for a number of offences including three alleged armed robberies at Marsden, Waterford and North Maclean on Saturday afternoon,” the spokesperson said.
“The man was taken into custody a short time later.”
The 26-year-old man was charged with three counts of armed robbery, one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count of unlawful posession of a weapon.
Police have not located the green Kawasaki motorbike rego KLX 250 alleged to have been used in the robberies.
