CLOUDS cleared in time for 106 amateur female golfers to descend on Windaroo Lakes Golf Club for the sixth Chip & Sip.
Festooned in pink, ladies of all ages and abilities played nine holes of golf, raising $1000 for breast cancer research on Sunday.
Chip & Sip is the brainchild of coach Janine Barney.
“I’m passionate about golf, particularly ladies’ golf” she said.
“Some of you know first hand the difficulties associated with fighting cancer and also knowing the value of friendship, love and support. You are my inspiration.”
Buggies and clubs were provided to those who needed them and golfing pros offered advice and support.
Cr Laurie Koranski praised those who took part.
“Hats off to all the amazing ladies who came together today to have fun and to help raise much needed funds for Breast Cancer research,” she said.
“Golf is a tremendous way for ladies to keep fit, socialise and have fun. Whether you are a keen golfer or dipping a toe in for the first time Chip & Sip is a great way to spend the afternoon.”
Chip & Sip returns to Windaroo Lakes Golf Club in 2019.
