Emergency services were called to a paragliding incident off Main Western Road at Tamborine Mountain at 12.30pm.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said a woman was reportedly stuck in a tree about 15-20 metres from the ground and was awaiting extrication.
She is believed to have no obvious injuries.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Service personnel, including technical rescue specialists are on the scene assessing how to get the woman out of the tree safely.
A QFES spokesperson said rescuers were concerned about the weather conditions hindering their efforts, with rain and storms predicted later today.
The Queensland Police Service and QAS paramedics are also at the location on standby.
