A GROUP of Logan and Scenic Rim performers are getting ready to sing under the sea at Beaudesert next month.
Months of rehearsals have culminated in an impressive Disney inspired Little Mermaid production, featuring 32 performers from Bams Theatre Productions.
The show will feature themes consistent with the Disney show and common songs which an audience is invited to sing along to.
Principal performer Claire Patrick from Flagstone said she relished her role as Sebastian, a male Jamaican crab.
“It has been fun getting the accent right. I have done quite a bit of homework,” she said.
“The Jamaican accent is a challenging one...Sebastian is a lovely character with comedic relief...a very funny, showy and over the top personality.”
Ms Patrick said her daughter Zoe, 12, was also performing in the junior ensemble as a sea creature.
“We have a mix of veteran performers and young up and coming talent,” she said.
“We have young performers playing Ariel and Prince Eric. They are very talented and have lots of work on their shoulders.”
The Little Mermaid will be directed by Kooralbyn teacher and performer Daniel McNamara.
Tickets are already on sale for the Little Mermaid show from October 12 to 27 at The Centre, 82 Brisbane Street, Beaudesert.
